Walk the Work-Life Balance in the Corporate World

Here are some of the thoughts if practiced consciously the growth is continuous and not sporadic

  • Careers cannot be mapped as there is no prescribed path or formula. It is your inert card that you need to play without hesitation but with clarity and conviction. There is no simple ladder; it is the jungle gym.
  • In the Jungle gym of corporate workspace, it is important that you create your seat at the table not to sit but to voice opinions to make the “small” change for collective good.
  • Exercise your choice with clarity as people who are reading it have the luxury to do it.
  • There is a hesitation amongst us that inhibits our growth. There have been occasions where we as woman do not speak just because of the fear of failure. Drop the fear and keep the faith.
  • Stop underestimating your ability. The opportunity will not come to you as a diamond-studded crown in the jungle gym; you have to “Make it happen” not aggressively but with assertiveness; because if you quit; it is the end; instead practice to be resilient.
  • Creating silos inhibits your growth; instead practice consciously networking and relationship building which is key to build bridges instead of walls.
  • Respect cannot be commanded. This has to be earned. It is easy to please your boss and quick to command your reportees’ but it is rewarding when you earn respect from your peers
  • Build your intellectual capability Learn new skills to be relevant. Unlearn as there is no point in bragging about the glorious past. “It is passe” The power is Now and we need to accept that “Change is permanent”
  • Last but not the least is as Woman; when you tread the path of time management; to be resilient it is important that you also work on your “Guilt Management”

You have to empower others to do what you want to do.
